Why PCI Compliance Is Critical
When it comes to protecting your business, you have to worry about more than just backing your systems up. You also have to adhere to industry standards that keep your customers and your business safe. It isn’t always easy to meet the Payment Card Industry’s (PCI) standards, and sometimes the compliance process can be outright frustrating.
Although complying isn’t always easy, meeting the standards will protect your customers’ credit card data from data thieves, hackers, and criminal groups that are becoming increasingly sophisticated with their tactics. What makes complying with PCI standards so difficult is that they are always changing and evolving over time. It can be hard to keep up with changing standards while you are trying to grow your business. The reason that the standards keep changing is that they must keep up with the evolving methods used by hackers. To make the PCI compliance process easier, the Hill Country Tech Guys offer PCI compliance services so that you can maintain compliance without all of the hassle.
Protecting Your Customers’ Data
You need to be able to keep your customers’ credit card data safe when they are making a purchase for your business. Your customers expect it, as do the financial institutions that provide them with their means of payment. If your systems are breached and customer data is stolen, you could be liable for significant financial penalties and fines. PCI compliance reduces the chances of a hack and can give you the peace of mind that you need to continue building your business. Don’t risk a hack, putting your company’s finances and your reputation at risk. Let our team at Hill Country Tech Guys keep you compliant even as the standards evolve over time.

Hey Pete,As you know we talked a dneect amount about this during the analysis. I find the 80/20 split very interesting. The 80/20 rule has show up not only in the annual PCI assessments as you discuss but that’s the same ratio we find when doing a post-breach PCI assessments as well (except it’s reverse).I’d like to know if the rule could be applied to effectiveness within the DSS. ie, do 20% of the controls provide 80% of the security value of the DSS? One day I’ll find some time to study that one a bit more
